Getting Started with SteepleOS
Welcome! This guide walks you through setting up your church, step by step. Most churches are up and running in under an hour — no technical skills needed.
1. Sign up & pick a plan
Start at steepleos.com and choose a plan to begin your $1 trial. Enter your name and your Church Name — this creates a private, secure workspace just for your congregation.
2. The setup wizard
When you first sign in, a short wizard helps you set the basics. You can change any of it later.
Branding
Add your church logo, colors, and contact details. These appear on your emails, giving pages, and tax statements. (We can even pre-fill this from your church website.)
Your church & denomination
Tell us a little about your church. Choosing your denomination sets a sensible default Bible translation for you.
Choose your toolkit
Everything in your plan is on by default. Switch off any tools you don't need to keep your menu clean — you can turn them back on anytime in Settings, with no price change.
3. Bring in your people
Go to Admin → Migrate Data in the left sidebar. Choose where your data is coming from (Planning Center, Breeze, a spreadsheet, etc.) or download our sample CSV to see the format. SteepleOS matches your columns automatically — review them, and nothing is saved until you confirm.
4. Turn on online giving
Go to Settings → Integrations and open the Payments tab, then click Connect with Stripe. You'll sign in to Stripe (or create a free account) and confirm where you'd like donations deposited. There are no technical keys to copy — SteepleOS handles the rest. Your church already has a General Fund set up, so you can receive your first gift right away.
5. Your first week
Your dashboard has a Getting Started checklist that walks you through the rest. The most useful first steps:
- Invite your staff under Admin → Team and give each person a role.
- Create your first event (like your Sunday service) under Events → New Event.
- Send a welcome message to your congregation from Communications.
